Will And Estate Lawyer Finding The Right Person To Draft Your Will
Posted on July 18, 2011 by admin

Finding a good will and estate lawyer is relatively easy especially if you live in the city. Most top caliber lawyers practice their profession in the city. In fact, many of these people are listed in the phonebook. However, you should not just rely on the phonebook to find a good will and estate lawyer. Instead of relying on the phonebook to help you find a good lawyer, try asking for referrals from the local bar association in your city. The local bar association should be able to refer you to a number of will and estate lawyers in your area. Aside from asking for referrals from the local bar counsel, you may also ask for recommendations from friends and family members.
Criteria In Hiring A Will And Estate Lawyer
There are a few things that you should watch out for when hiring a will and estate lawyer. First, you need to find a will and estate lawyer who has good credentials. Before you hire a lawyer, you need to know where this person got his or her law degree. Lawyers who graduated from top colleges and universities usually have better training. Second, you need a lawyer who has a good track record and has many satisfied clients. You need to do a little background check on the lawyer before you hire his or her. Third, need a lawyer who is truly commitment to his or her job and display high level of professionalism. Find someone who is dependable at all times and is willing to go an extra mile to protect and promote the best interest of his or her client.

how long does a law office keep copy of a last will and testament?
Just wondering how long a last will and testament is saved in a law office. Thank you in advance.
Answer
My understanding they are legally required to keep a copy of the will until it is probated. That is until the person dies and the will is opened. They may move it from their office to a
secure storage area after (I believe) 7 years but they are responsible for it.
